2018 Model S design flaw?

Was this design flaw corrected after my 2018? This lower panel always gets dirty and damaged especially on white cars Any solution ideas?

I'm not so sure that's a "design flaw" vs. "design reality" but there are lots of third party options for mud flaps... that's pretty much the fix.

Yes. It was corrected by not getting white paint.

Those areas clean up easy if you rub car wax on them and then wipe off the excess after letting it dry. You'll know it's time to reapply when the grime doesn't come off easy.

The large flat spot directly behind the rear wheels. Needs mud flaps which would look terrible.

Most cars have a downward facing surface there, so the buildup isn't noticable.

You can choose a custom color to match the mud.

Not a design flaw. It is deliberately done this way on Tesla and many other cars today for improved aerodynamics, which increases range. ICE trucks and SUVs often don't do this as running a brick through the wind is already an aerodynamic disaster and MPG is expected to be awful.

I see the dirt - my 2018 does the same thing. The scrapes to the left of the panel look like they occurred while back up.
