i'd like to hear from you this winter, about your range in Fargo. My longtime colleague hailed from there. His railroad closed during winters, he came to Long Beach and worked at the Douglas plant. The name Fargo always catches my eye, since then.
When temps get below 0F and I've been parked at work for 8+ hours, there's no regen for the trip home and acceleration becomes granny-on-a-walker mode. Range at highway speed gets low enough where I assume half of the range shown in the car is available. i.e. a 100 mile trip at 60 to 75 could take close to 200 miles of battery. When plugging in on a winter day on 120v (20a), it takes at least 30 minutes before the battery warms enough to start charging. During that time I see 0 mph, then after bit 1mph.... until finally I see 6 or 7 mph. Late fall to early spring means you have to drive an ICE vehicle for trips to Minneapolis, MN since the nearest SC is Clearwater, 190 miles east of Fargo.
On the plus side, dual motor with snow tires rocks! SC are under construction now in Dickinson & Bismarck (west of Fargo), making travel to the west a lot easier, and coming soon to Fargo & Alexandria MN to make Minneapolis travel in the winter a possibility. Travel to Canada is also coming this fall with Grand Forks, ND and Pembina, ND.
