To fix the bugs that was in 8.3...I got another software update to version 2019.8.4 today. However, there is no change in features vs version 2019.8.3. I wonder what is new version update for.
Thanks for the info.To fix the bugs that was in 8.3...
Software updates go like this: YEAR.BUILD.VERSION
Tesla decided to use the week of development as the build version. Therefore 2019.8.4 is a newer version of 8.3 which means there was a bug in 8.3 that needed to be patched.
Usually goes like this: New version = bug fix.
New build = new feature
I got an update notification around 1030ish last night. I was already in bed so I didn't action. I tried to install via the app this morning and it gave an error saying no update is available.
I went to the car and it wasn't pending there any longer either. Rebooted the car 1.5 hrs ago and still nothing.
Did this happen to any of you as well?
You should get 8.4 or maybe something newer once it wide releases. I think when the update got pulled your pending update got deleted. The reason it got pulled was a bug and 8.4 fixes it so everyone with 8.3 is getting it first. So my guess is either you’ll get 8.4 when it goes wide release or 9 when it releases who knows2019.8.3 or 2019.8.4?
2019.8.3 or 2019.8.4?
Tony, have you updated to the increased range yet? I'm on 8.4 now but still no increased range for my M3LR - it's unchanged at 491 km, although the increased power is definitely there. Tesla Service had assured me last week that 2019.8.4 was the update to increase the range as promised by Elon, but not so. The Release Notes also make no mention of the range, just of the increased 5% power.
Yeah that’s just a browser issue that’s why the patch notes didn’t load. Restarting the car should fix ithmmmm.
got 8.3 on Friday....with no notes (blank page). I have a 2015 S85D, so I may not get the extra power that you Model 3 folks got.

My car got the range increase in 5.15.There is no expected range increase, they are just allowing 5% more power to the motor. So your range will actually decrease more when you step on it
Someone had a theory that they forked the code. I just supercharged not too long ago on 2019.8.3 and did not see anything above 116kW.2019.7.11 will allow us to use V2 at 147 kW, but I haven't see or hear anyone confirm that. Since we are on 8.4, we should have that already. I don't see route warm up either.
