Not a feature. Previously it prevented Tesla drivers from being That Asshole who sits in the left lane all the time when they don't need to.

It’s a setting. You can set it to stay in the passing lane, or not. Good way for Assholes to self-identify.

Guess I'm an asshole then as I'll be flipping the flag during commute traffic. Personally happy they added this option in.

This is all well and good but not all of us live in the country. Some of us get to enjoy five lanes of bumper to bumper traffic. Where the previous behavior was suboptimal.

Sure but that could be fixed in a far more intelligent manner than "enable passing lane blocking mode". eg if car is doing stop/start/slow in freeway conditions and lanes either side (where they exist) are frequently congested and would prevent lane change, automatically increase the time before attempting to pull out of a passing line.

Absolutely and I would prefer added intelligence instead of a more manual solution like this flag. Though I will take this mulligan for now as I assume it's just a stop gap till they further tune passing lane behavior in various conditions.

I’ve found left lane drivers usually justify it by saying they’re going at or below the speed limit.

I would enjoy seeing a picture of a road with 12 lanes in one direction plus carpool/hoa lanes with bumper to bumper traffic. Then I can start calling LA/Bay area the country.

This is great if i want to stay in the fast lane until i use my turn signal. Very nice where i live.
