2020 Model 3 and differences from 2019

I have a 20MY. I did order in September and had a VIN removed from the order and replaced with a 2020 vehicle. I must have one of the first 2020.

Honestly though, you can get different wheels on the performance model. There's no confirmation when / if the 3's have gotten the new sound insulation yet.

I can say my 20 is quieter than the 19. Especially lack of wind noise around the door window seals - much improved.

Man, I would be ecstatic for better sound deadening... That is worth it right there.

Drives me nuts that these things are so noisy at highway and interstate speeds compared to my other cars.

I think it depends on the build though. My 2018 wasn't that bad but my 2019 is like a wind tunnel.

2. Window seals are stiffer rubber. Possible revised design or new vendor?
3. Fenders not touching the body at the A-pillar (the rust issue)
4. Slightly stiffer trunk carpet lining. (sides and where trunk lights mount)
5. No frunk carpet mat from factory anymore.

Everything else I have examined is identical. As ownership time continues I may find more differences

Was there any feedback on why the bag clips were removed? I really like them and would think most would. Are they just going through the car to remove complexity and reduce cost?

Just got a call from SA. They have a car in inventory for me.
it's a 2019 but she told me since it was built on oct 8, the "improvements" are already in place.

No. Tax credit (the subsequent reductions) are based on delivery date in calendar quarters, not model years.

I have 9/19 2019 build and interior is quieter than coworkers 2018. I don't think only 2020 have the improved sound deadening but dont know for sure...

I don't think one can definitely say that any particular difference is between a MY19 and MY20 as they are constantly changing throughout the year. I have what is probably one of the MY19s (October build) and it is extremely quiet, has no frunk mat but does have the bag clips - for example.

You knows it’s going to confuse or annoy so many people. First it was the whole M3 nonsense, and now it’s going to be the whole MY 2020 stuff, too. I give up.
