Not entirely. My car is a Sep '19 build, and I have the PWS, I do have the Frunk clips, and all the lights. I did not get frunk/trunk mats. I did get the J1772 adapter and a NEMA 5-15 mobile charger. I did not get USB cables for the phone mount at first, but I asked and my delivery dude snuck me a trio- USB-C, Micro-USB, and whatever Apple called their iDevice cables back then, gratis.
What a nice guy. the micro-usb was never included. Well hey it's not as funny as my SR where the footwell lights light up for a split second before the car realizes "AHA he didn't pay for these. TURN EM OFF"

absolutely crazy they are removing interior lights when really they should be adding more interior lighting... that's a major weakness even on last year's models. that they didn't even cap off those holes tells me this was just a calculated savings in their rush to meet their yearly sales and delivery numbers and that if you took it back and complained enough they would eventually 'fix' it hoping that most people won't bother the small stuff. and apparently they have enough demand now that they aren't bothered by a perceived small number of 'complaints'.

I will complain

My car came with 1 lightening and one micro-usb cable, 2018. This whole bit of leaving out small parts is a bit too much I think, it's one thing to decide home link isn't used by enough people to justify the cost but little interior lights

Suddenly 'old' Model 3s are worth more (tongue in cheek)

I use the hell out of my Homelink. I’d be pissed without it. (2018 AWD)

you what? no more lights?? Have you got a picture?

Same here. 9/2019 build with the frunk hooks, door pocket lighting and all of the stuff DopeGhoti mentioned. I complained about the lack of frunk mat, so they gave me one gratis as a goodwill gesture. I bought my own Apple Lightning cable. No biggo.

Yes. The 2018 is noisy for example on I-5 between in the Central Valley on the way to LA where speed "limit" is 75 mph. So far, I've self-installed a BASENOR Tesla Model 3 Wind Noise Reduction Kit Quiet Seal Kit 4.0 Upgraded to seal the top glass which helps quite a bit. It helps to have a second person to help you.

Today, I'm going to install a BASENOR Tesla Model 3 Door Seal Kit Soundproof Rubber Weather Draft Seal Strip Wind Noise Reduction Kit before I leave early AM on Sunday.

When I helped deliver some Model 3's at Fremont Factory New Year's Eve, I noticed these little small things that have been deleted compared to my 2018. I think it was foolish on the part of Tesla to do it. However, as a TSLA investor, I understand how they are trying to squeeze extra money out of people that want them, while not charging people who don't.

Off-topic: Sunday early AM PST (starting ~ 6 am), I will be testing out my new 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer, Xenvo Pro Lens Kit, and Delkin Fat Gecko Mount Stealth using my iPhone 11 Pro by twitching my entire road trip from Silicon Valley down to UCLA to drop my son off, with one stop at Kettleman SC. My twitch handle is @TeslaRuss I can't do youtube live streams yet because you need 1,000 subscribers, so I'm twitching LOL. I'll tweet @RussEngle when my stream goes live. It should be fun I love to speed on I-5. I also bought a new Escort radar detector that crowd-sources speed traps!

 In case you are a law enforcement officer or my auto insurance agent, the part about "I love to speed on I-5" is purely fictional!

Nice work! You can update your VIN decoder... the 8th digit of "C" indicates Performance model.
Also, regarding the section "Home Charging Speed". I can get 48A with the Tesla Wall Connector and my MY2020 Performance, your text indicates otherwise?

Thank you! On the fence whether I want to add the Performance Model back into the decoder, since the rest of the article focus is only on LR versus SR+, let me ponder that for a bit....FYI, all my other Tesla stuff at:
TinkerTry.com/Tesla
with several more on the way in the next month or so...

Yeah you might as well add it. Mainly because you have a section detailing LR vs. SR+, but in reality, many of the '18 vs. '20 differences are applicable to all MY2020 Model 3s.

Moving this reply to @CMoZ to this thread since this is 2020 vehicle related, not really Acceleration boost related.

So, I found the definitive proof that the Performance for 2020 has greater range than the AWD 2020. The EPA documents have not yet been published, but the CARB has their Executive Orders which must be issued before sale of the vehicle, which include the drive cycle data for each variant. These are UDDS (Urban/City) cycle numbers; no highway test here, but they can be compared relative to prior data.

2020:

2019:

2018:

If you multiply these numbers by the 2-cycle to 5-cycle ratio of 0.7032, you will find the numbers sometimes match the EPA datafile, but there are some inconsistencies there. But it does not matter, really.

Extra Performance efficiency secured!

A couple of factors here: If you're comparing vehicles with different 100% rated mile values with the same size battery, that means the energy per mile is different. So they will charge at different rates even with equal energy input. (But total energy into the battery per unit time and total charging time will be identical.)

The other thing is the charging efficiency. We don't know yet, but the 2020 vehicles may have slightly improved the on-board charger. This results in a better efficiency metric (more power into the battery for a fixed amount of power from the wall). If you squint really closely at the EPA data, you can make the argument that the efficiency may be a couple % improved over prior years. We don't have the documents yet to say definitively, though. That would make the charging rates slightly different, too.

Ugh no matter how many times I try and re-explain this none of the “I’m certain I know crowd” seems to understand. This is still far from definitive you don’t seem to completely understand what and how they’re testing. It’s as simple as charge the car throw it on the dyno and run until empty. And given the motor control profile on the perf/non performance models is guaranteed different of course these numbers will differ. As well the apples to apples comparison there is a difference of 17 miles. I bet I can do the same test on any 2 LR AWDs and get a similar difference. Again Far from answering the question. For like the billionth time now the only way to answer this is to bench test a 990 vs a 980 out of the car

Incredible write up. Really enjoyed reading.

Just one thing (and maybe I’m reading incorrectly or too quickly): Using the 14-50 NEMA you aren’t technically getting “top charging speed” at home with the Gen 2 adapter. Your car is capable of 48amps (~44 miles/hr). You’d need a 60amp connection with the actual Wall Connector to reach that speed at home. I actually don’t find that worth it, since even I use just a 14-30 NEMA at home (23 miles/hr) and have never had any issue but I realize we could definitely bump the charge rate up.
