I decided to trade in/sell my model Y and get LR+ model S, I have a trade in offer from Tesla (attached) for $53,300, I live in IN so get a 7% tax savings on trade in, value of Tesla trade in is $57,031 to me. Im asking $57,500 for the car or $59,500 with both sets of tires. Im pretty firm because if I was going to take any less I will just trade it in.

Its a 2020 Model Y performance, 2114 miles, perfect condition etc. White with white interior, performance upgrades package. Completely stock except it currently has Tsportline 19" TSV wheels with Michelin A/S 4 tires($3400). I don't have any pictures with these and the car is filthy right now (it just snowed here), but I can send on request or you can look at the wheels on Tsportlines website, they look great IMO. The matte black on the TSV matches the car much better than w/e color the Uberturbines are.

That is a really awesome trade offer based on the current discounts they give on new Performance Y’s. They gave us a fair trade offer on our Performance 3 based on the year end push and when the tax is factored in it is a waste of time trying to sell outright. I was going to buy this inventory Performance Y, White/white last week then switched to a even better discount Red/white Y and in the end based on the ride comfort and range finally ordered another S to be picked up tomorrow.

To be honest I am kicking myself because I let the previous trade in offer expire when i got distracted over Christmas, 10 days ago the offer was $57,200. Wish I would have jumped on and not forgot it lol

Take the trade in offer fast!!

Tesla is selling brand new 2020 demos for 9% off MSRP and anyone paying this amount would just buy a 2021 not to mention Tesla China just released pics of the 2021 Y refresh which I'm sure is gonna hit the US here this month.

Laminated front glass
New updated Console to match the 3
BioWeapon Hepa Filter
Heated Steering Wheel
New Door interior door panels.

Its called the Iphone Effect.

Wow that was an awesome offer. You should have jumped on their mistake, you could have traded yours in for the same Performance Y and got change back plus free SC and a new warranty. Until yesterday the new ones also came with the one year free SC. I don’t understand their valuations. A couple weeks ago just for laughs to see their offer I submitted my 3,000 mile ‘19 Performance S that I bought 6 months ago to see what the trade value would be. The trade offer was only in the low 70’s for a 6 month old Performance S car that currently stickers for $110,490 (its sticker was actually higher). I think they need some people with actual auto experience doing their values.

Well, in my area right now, there is a 2019 Model S Performance with 5K miles, white interior, FSD, 21 wheels for just $82K. So, it seems reasonable that they offer just $70’s for yours used. I mean it is a 2019, not a 2020.

You completely missed the point though, they are offering more for the used Model Y trade than they sell brand new ones for. I was suggesting that they should take advantage of the generous offer. The comparison was that they offered substantially less for a 6 month old Performance S than they sell new ones at plus also substantially less than a used one.

Still for sale if anyone is interested. Lowering price to $55k or $57k with both sets of wheels. No longer planning to buy a model S so trade in value is irrelevant (although it did go up somehow to 54.3k lol).

No MS especially after the refresh? Can you explain why you were thinking MS after purchasing the Y? Honestly what didn't you like about the car after only having for such a short time? If you were on my side of the world I would definitely check your car out! GLWS

I love the S especially after the refresh but I got priced out with the ~$11k increase. Might buy one in a year or so. The Y is a great car and its fun to drive, I just want a softer ride to be honest. I like the luxury 'boat' drive of the S. Also a bit more range wouldn't hurt, Ive had some close calls with the Y.
