2021.4.11 - what is with the loud banging sounds

    Update downloaded and installing. Some weird sounds coming from the back. Like a few banging sounds. Wtf?

    That's the self destruct arming. I'd put in my command codes real quick if I were you....

    (but seriously that's super common with updates, nothing to be concerned about)

    All normal. All Tesla do that for many years now.

    Maybe you have never been besides the car when it wakes up or when it goes to sleep? The big high voltage battery contactor is very noisy. I believe it's located under the back seat of the car...

    I sat in the car through a firmware update once... ONCE.

    It's terrifying, hearing all the actuators going off throughout the car. Clunk, clang, bang, pop, poof.

    Best to tell it to start the update, go inside, and grab a drink. Where's @one2many when you need him?

    Well spun a bearing (1970) and never been the same since. For clunck I use TNT with ICE
    and lime

    In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida real loud helps as well
