So are your front tires really worn out? If so, you should report the issue to Tesla so maybe they can correct the warning. (Maybe they should leave the front/rear part off the warning if they can't properly identify it.)

I think that is the point of the feature. To tell you there is higher wear on one of the two axles. As an alert to rotate the tires.

Hi Mike, the front tires have almost 28000 miles. They can probably make another ~5000 miles maybe. So worn out but not to the point that I want to change them yet. But my front tires are like only 3000 miles. Yeah I had to bring it to the Tesla Service center for another message "Camera occluded", so I mentionned this too.

What did service say? I'm in your exact situation.

The point is that the warning was wrong. It said that the rear tires had too little tread, when it is the front tires that are worn.

Was that the front as sensed from the driver's seat facing forward? At least it told him something was not right. I'm sure it will be addressed in an upcoming update.

Seriously though, I like the idea of an extra, more active system, that might bring your attention to an alignment issue that's wearing one tire quicker.

I'd assume Tesla has lots of data on hand to be able to have a baseline, though like @Shelburne said, lots of variables, including the specific tire you're using (vs. OEM).

How does that tell you tyre wear. Is 30k normal milage, that seems a massive amount of miles, my old M3 (actually M3 before you lot stole the name), I was lucky to get 10k miles out of the rears, obviously the fronts lasted forever.

It's a dang good thing there is no screen page to monitor the wear in real time. OMG, which page to stare at- the revolutions, the pressure, or the wh/mi.?

I’m in the same boat too! Replaced my rear tires and getting the warning “Uneven tire wear - rear tire tread depth too low”. The back tires are 4 weeks old.

got my first Uneven Tire Wear error yesterday. i am on air suspension and only had my tires on for 3 months. anyone know if we can clear it out or do we have to go to SC?

I thought the "penny test" was when you place the edge of the coin onto the tire at the top of one of the sidewalls and if you can smoothly slide it to the other sidewall of the tire without hitting any depressions or obstructions, that's when it's time to consider a new tire.

Is that also when it's white due to the cords showing.

I would think it would go away on its own once you replace the worn out tires.

That’s the thing though, tread depth is fine, and I only have around 2500kms on all 4 of my tires. The notification came on when I was driving on slippery roads for about 5-6kms. The tires were full of snow so it’s possible that fooled the system?

A possibility. Since this is a brand new feature there will be some teething pains.

You do understand you signed up as a Beta tester when you bought the car? Right?
