2021 Fresh from Factory Busted PCS

Got my model Y long range just 3 weeks ago. I happened to notice it charges at 32 amps with my Tesla wall connector. I would have never known it was doing that had I not happened to enter the car when it was charging. It’s currently in the shop getting the new PCS put in.

Cautionary tale - if you charge off-peak, check your charge rate. A surprise might be waiting for you.

@TheCorgiDidIt I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure I've read the Gen 2 mobile connector included with the MY maxes out at 32 amps even on a LR AWD.

The issue is that the Tesla LRMY was charging at only 32 amps when using the Tesla Wall Connector (supports charging at up to 48 amps when installed on a circuit rated for 60 amps.)

@jcanoe @TheCorgiDidIt my apologies, I misread the original post as mobile connector. Obviously my morning coffee hasn't kicked in yet!

No problems! Tesla’s taken 3 days to fix it (I think the car was sitting in the shop) but I’m getting it back today. Too bad they didn’t have any loaners; I was kind of hoping they’d lend me a Plaid or something for my troubles.

Same just happened to me. 22 MYP. Never was able to charge above 32amps on my 40amp charger. Watching it try to ramp up the amps was painful.. up, down, up, down, PCS errors. Got a loaner and was charging at 40A fine at home. PCS is being replaced.
