Hey all! I have a sparkling 2021 Standard Range Plus Model 3 I unfortunately have to part ways with. Unexpectedly moving to a very rural area with a long commute so vehicle is no longer feasible for my situation. Located in sunny San Diego, CA. Lease out to March 2024, 10k miles a year, 15k miles on the car now. Tons of positive equity in the vehicle so drive away for only $355 a month due to Tesla with $5000 down for transfer. You read that right, only $355 a month! My loss, your gain- This is a STEAL!

As of now, you cannot buy out.

Can’t buy out the lease so there’s no real equity anywhere since the car goes back to Tesla.

It is true that you can not buy out the lease, on model 3s and Ys. You also can not sell them to a dealer, currently, so there is no current way to realize any equity a vehicle may or may not have on a tesla model 3/Y lease.
