Why did you decide to send the check to Tesla? I am paying half by cashier's check and other half thro DCU financing. I was planning to get the check at my address and bring both checks on the delivery date. Did you pay everything before taking delivery? DCU approved and was planning to send the Docusign that night and send a check the next day. I told them to hold as I still don't have an exact delivery date even tho I have a VIN and it seems like the car won't even be in Rockville before Feb 18th. So i am going to ask for the check next Monday or later.
I decided to use DCU as well, and the process was smooth. There are these details to pay attention to for anyone financing through them:

1) They use Equifax. Remove any credit freezes on your Equifax account so they can pull your credit before you submit your loan application. Otherwise there is a generic "internal system error" error message when you try to submit the very simple loan application. I submitted multiple times and finally called them to ask why I am unable to submit and the lady explained about the credit freeze.

2) Your Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement (MVPA) that Tesla generates automatically should show "Digital Federal Credit Union" in the line where the financed amount is shown. Ensure you have this in your MVPA. You can call Tesla and they will update it over the phone, and they will regenerate the MVPA instantly. This document must be uploaded to DCU after you login, or by clicking on the upload documents link in the email they send.

3) Have DCU make the check payable to "Tesla, Inc." when they send it. I had them send it to me instead of directly to Tesla. I will bring a second cashier's check for my down payment when I take delivery.

4) In case something goes wrong at delivery and you refuse to accept the car from Tesla you can send the check back to DCU and they will cancel the loan.

5) The loan starts accruing interest from the time you docusign the DCU loan agreement, and not when Tesla cashes the check.

6) I got the 1.74% APR rate for 65 months and I did not use direct deposit with them. I am happy with this rate.

7) To speak with someone, call the DCU toll-free number and have them call you back instead of being on hold for more than an hour. Works great!

I applied to DCU last Sept thinking I was going to take delivery and they offered 1.74% up to 50k for EV without any credit check but few questions. When I got the VIN I uploaded the MVPA with DCU's name and for 50k and called them that evening they said they can send the check to me by Fedex ON to my address (as that was what I told them to so that I can bring both my cashier's check and their check all at once as I mentioned above) and the interest will start to accrue right away. I asked them to hold on and not send the check until I get a firm delivery date as I may not take delivery before Feb 21st it seems according to Tesla as it is in transit. Exactly, I am not asking them to send the check to Tesla but just to me in case there is an issue during delivery or if the windshield was broken or whatever...I did get 1.24% and no credit check at all as I did not want to get over 50k for 65 months and i decided to send a portion as direct deposit.

Took delivery of our NF4707xx today. Not surprisingly, no updated headlights/taillights.

Some notes on delivery experience at the Fremont factory:
  • Trade-in was a breeze. I thought it would add some time and hassle for them to do at least some basic checks. But no, they barely looked at it, and the only thing they asked about it was whether I had any belongings in it still. Their offer was within $200 of Carmax and Carvana, so for me it was a no-brainer.
  • They confirmed that my SA added referral in the system (back when it was still offered)
  • They would only let me check the exterior before accepting delivery. I paid with cashiers check to be able to have more option value, but turned out not really to make a difference. From the exterior the only thing noticeable was slightly more gap on the right than the left on the trunk hatch door, so I went ahead and accepted delivery.
  • Immediately noticed that the trunk floor cover was missing. Went back to the delivery specialist and they told me they ran out of them and to schedule a service appointment. Kind of disappointing because the Model S parked right behind mine had one.
  • Since issues had to be addressed at a later date anyway, I decided to go through the rest of the checklist at home in my garage rather than in the searing sun
Given that most people in this thread are reporting near perfect deliveries, I was somewhat surprised+disappointed to find several issues:
  • Trunk hatch misalignment
  • Missing trunk floor mat
  • Driver door weather seal not attached [properly]
  • Wrinkles in back and driver seats
  • No power from USBC ports in the back
  • Wasn't able to get windshield wipers to activate, but I think this was user error; need to fiddle with it tomorrow
First available service appointment in the Bay Area is 2/26, first available at Fremont is 3/3. Gotta admit I'm a bit jealous hearing others who were able to get their issues addressed on delivery day - from what I'm gathering other service centers may be doing a better job at customer service. Super glad the wait is over though - definitely prefer this 99% car than getting a fully perfect one much later!

So DCU send the check to Tesla and I assumed is bc. I had home delivery. My part of the deposit was done via the Tesla app though an electronic transfer with my bank.

I paid everything even before seeing the car and taking delivery. I had my delivery date set before DCU paid them the check. Per the Tesla app - I needed to pay off the car to avoid any delays. I just wanted to get it done and figured if something major was wrong then I would just refuse delivery via the app.

Sounds like in Rockville they are actually letting you go in to purchase it vs Tyson's it's all home delivery.

Enjoy the car as I love it!

My delivery date is set for FEB 21st 2 pm!!!!

Got my car today. Lovely. A couple of minor flaws with the seal on one door which the advisor noted and said they will correct. The car was already in "insane mode" when I got it, unbeknownst to me. Scared the crap out of me when I floored it and my son almost panicked! Great ride so far. Much to learn. Pics tomorrow in the light!
