This is across industries. This is not just for Tesla. That’s about as vague and weak a source as “my SA told me”.
Unless you were speaking directly to Zachary Kirkhorn, your source is full of it.
this is crazy i also finalized in May shows Feburary now was August prior. So yours show April? This is total BS.February ordered and finalized everything by May

what do you drive now?
I ordered mine (LR white on white, 19s) on 5/4 and got a delivery window of Dec 22 - Jan 02. Guess mine isn't a top priority.I have the same config & got the same date window. But I had ordered mine May 20th, 2021.
VP at a company the size of Tesla means he doesn’t know ANYTHING about the company’s profit margins. I promise you.Let me invite him over for drinks & get him drunk to get more out of him. He is a VP & my neighbor.
I understand the price of components is going up. That is not what is being disputed. This is across industries. This is not just for Tesla.
I'll let you know what I find out.VP at a company the size of Tesla means he doesn’t know ANYTHING about the company’s profit margins. I promise you.
That’s not what anyone is talking about. OP said the Model S is not profitable. That is total BS.There would be plenty of people who would be privy to internal costs increasing. Not saying his source isn't full of it, as they may be, however to imply the CFO is the only one (or even, the first one) who knows of cost increases is absurd.
I am now February as well after being told to expected delivery "soon" in early-July. Was August until today. SA reached out, had me apply for credit and order a wall charger. I specifically told my SA I don't want my credit pulled until the car is going to be delivered. Was assured it won't be that long and they're ready for credit.Ordered 4/25 with 10-14 weeks estimate (if I remember the estimate correctly).
Went blank for about a week in early-June, then started showing August since then. Added FSD on today and it still showing August. August 1st would be 14 weeks from date of order.

I completely agree...that pure conjecture on this thread.I understand the price of components is going up. That is not what is being disputed.
To say their $90K flagship vehicle is unprofitable and being treated as a loss-leader is absolutely false.IO
Interesting, that would mean they could get you a car in 60 days. Since at that point, they have to rerun your credit. Which if that was ALSO the case, you would have a date range in your account since there are ranges that are 60 (even 90 or 120) days awayWas assured it won't be that long and they're ready for credit.
Did he say what that was based upon? Build date, factory gate, planning date, etc.? Because people have Q4 date ranges today.FWIW, Spoke to my SA...he said that though the website is showing February it should be Q4. So my guess is that the website now has a VERY conservative estimate.
It's shocking and extremely SAD that Tesla's corporate culture is what it is. Most other companies operating this way would be out of business by now. The product itself might be incredible, however treating customers this way can and will bite them. As previously stated, this is my 1st Tesla and last Tesla regardless of how much I might like the car.I am now February as well after being told to expected delivery "soon" in early-July. Was August until today. SA reached out, had me apply for credit and order a wall charger. I specifically told my SA I don't want my credit pulled until the car is going to be delivered. Starting the process of returning my wall charger. I don't think Tesla is for me. This is my 3rd attempt at buying one in the past 6 years and it always goes south. Likely getting into another ICE for now. Been looking at a M5 Competition. May consider a Lucid Air if they figure out their delivery timelines too.
Holysheet. I thought that was your Plaid order you mentioned said "May 2022" and it moved up. Wow.Long Range
