Unless you commit fraud and report that you paid less for the vehicle, and yes, I know 99% of the people do this. You can't, however, go to your DMV with a straight face and claim you paid $100 for a new car.

Apologize if I was incorrect about the Tax. I had read elsewhere that there are ways to do it (register in an alternative state, register through Montana LLC, etc.). Can work with potential buyer on this as needed to do what is best for them. Of course dont want to do anything incorrect.

I would say more than 90% of private party sales are not reported for the actual amount paid for the vehicle.

It's just how you word it in your listing that makes it a little Perhaps just edit that for clarity.

Most states these days do the bill of sale amount, or book value, whichever is higher to calculate the sales tax. So the old trick of underreporting the sales price really doesn't work anymore unless the car is quite older or a collectors car where there are no current book values.

I can get them in Manheim dealer-to-dealer for about $90k but not with this low mileage. With this mileage, $105k +/- a few is a fair/good deal.

Unfortunately for sellers prices have dropped dramatically. CarMax has plaids with 4k miles for $102, 8k miles for $95k and $97k.
