Question on iphone- so you never have gotten a phantom text, have you ever had the text feature stop working entirely when you get a flurry of texts?I don’t do group texts… so works flawlessly for me.
Never had this/any problem for my M3 or S after getting it setup. I have been using an iPhone 10XRQuestion on iphone- so you never have gotten a phantom text, have you ever had the text feature stop working entirely when you get a flurry of texts?
Let me consult the Tesla public feature release timing plan....Any ETA on being able to answer an incoming phone call by pressing the microphone button instead of removing your hand and going to the touchscreen?
Um... yep.Anyone else have a horrible time with Text messaging integration? It cannot understand group txts, I get phantom texts and it only works about 80% of the time?
Crazy- only car I have seen like this, ever. I guess most others use car play or android auto where it works really well. Probably the worst part of the interface/software as best I can tell.Um... yep.
Group texts come in as a direct text and replies only go to the sender, not the group. Likely due to the method group texts work.
Tesla will never support CarPlay or Android Auto not because of focus, but because they don't want to.Tesla needs to spend some time on a "Tesla Drive"* app store sandbox. Car Play and Android Auto should also be a focus.
* I already call the hope of an app store "Tesla Drive". Competes with Apple iTunes and Android Play Store.
Tesla doesn't want to be beholden/dependent on Apple or Google. They want to control all the software on your car.Tesla will never support CarPlay or Android Auto not because of focus, but because they don't want to.
That's all fine and dandy... control it all they want. Apple controls the crap out of iTune apps and Tesla could do the same. At least offer the option. My first Model S had an "app" screen. There was never more than 1 (?) app though... I think it was some kind of calendar or task list app. They considered an app store and then took it out at some point.Tesla doesn't want to be beholden/dependent on Apple or Google. Other manufacturers are generally clueless about software and farm out most of it. They are dependent on Apple and Google.

There is an app to allow the functionality of them. As a developer, I know the distinction.Car play and Android auto are not apps.
For what? I am suggesting they build an app store... like Apple and Google have done. Not to use the Apple and Google app stores.Tesla will not pay the license fee
To offer the option of having Carplay, Tesla has to pay a license fees to Apple. Apple doesn’t provide that for freeFor what? I am suggesting they build an app store... like Apple and Google have done. Not to use the Apple and Google app stores.
Yeah- I really do not care if they have carplay or android auto- although it works better for things like calls and txt messaging. If Tesla would just fix text messaging I would be happy. To offer the option of having Carplay, Tesla has to pay a license fees to Apple. Apple doesn’t provide that for free
