Does anybody know if there is a way to activate TACC without auto steer?
I find auto steer to be difficult. It gives me frequent nags and disconnects and occasionally panics (I am rigorous about keeping my hands on the wheel but I guess I don't jiggle it enough). It's also a pain to change lanes since it disconnects.
I'd be happy to just have TACC without auto steer.

Yes, change it to double click to engage in the Nav menu. Then a single press engages TACC only.
For auto steer nag, jiggling is not the best technique. Keep a light, constant torque on the wheel. Don’t wait for nag then jiggle.

Thanks. Works great. Found it on the Autopilot menu.
Also found I don't get nags if I rest one hand on the bottom of the yoke.
Still get occasional false panic stops.

What delay in AP?

Compared to other Teslas - the Model S refresh seems to have a slight delay when turning on TACC and AP with the right scroll wheel button. It becomes annoying on a road trip when you are engaging and disengaging a lot.

What software version are you on? I'll double check mine.

85 only on Freeways, but limited to 5 mph over on all other roads. I drive on Highways listed at 55 MPH where you would get shot driving 60, so I cannot use AP. If TACC does not have this limitation, I would be very happy.

Confirmed. No delay on my AP engagement. I checked carefully for it. It activates instantly, as far as I can feel. I'm on 2022.36.20.

I'll have to double check. I have noticed that I was able to use FSD more than 5 mph over the speed limit. Not sure about regular AP.

Thing I noticed on the latest sw version:
I have PoI turned on, to see nearby superchargers.
If I am navigating, I still see them
However, if the nav routes me to stop for a charge, then no other superchargers show anymore! Once that charge is done, they show again.

AP limits to 5mph over posted on 2 lane roads, anything without a divider really.

Just tested tacc on two lane road. (70 mph speed limit) I was able to set the max to 90 mph

I keep getting occasional phantom braking episodes. Don't trust it .
