This is what I was told by a service tech. There was a shortage in 2021 so they used 8GB.Must have been a shortage thing that some December-March builds got 16 gb and some got 8 gb.
Sounds like Tesla's problem.. I didn't have shortage of money and pay them less when they asked for the payment. This is what I was told by a service tech. There was a shortage in 2021 so they used 8GB.
Maybe because I chose infotainment and other infotainment when scheduling the service. Then I noted upgrade needed from 8GB to 16 GB to support latest features like steam integration. if I just called the service I would have received different response? What is surprising here is while I got the answer the retrofit is not available at this time and will be available in future, you on the other hand got a price quote and was available. I am not understanding why some poeple are getting Price estimate / Retrofit is possible now.
and some like me are getting that its not available yet and no time frame..
Not my experience:Rumor has it that Tesla might offer free MCU retrofits for 2021 and early 2022 S/X
Thank you for this seems like this is the part they going to replace if or when we do the retrofits..
Yes, Apparently it has made to the X. I don't think or at-least I have not seen on the S yet..is that a thing?
Yea, New screen actually make the screen looks so much better and I think it looks pretty useful with the new screen now.. I am yet to see one in person. That's a nice improvement. I have never used my rear screen though so I can't appreciate it at the full potential.
Assuming $2,000Yea, New screen actually make the screen looks so much better and I think it looks pretty useful with the new screen now.. I am yet to see one in person.
I wonder if they do offer to replace/retrofit this and what price...
It better extend than (HAHA) all the way to third row in X and right and left tilt for SAssuming $2,000
My understanding is the support infrastructure for the jump seats was removed with the 21 refresh, or before. All this talk about screens in the refresh is great, but what about 3rd row compatibility people!! One of the big hidden gem features of the pre refresh Model S is factory third row. Do those station wagon jump seats still fit the refresh cars??? (someone lie to me and please say yes)
Based on everything I have heard so far, that is correct I can confirm that 2020s have all the supporting infrastructure (my car is a 2020 and I retrofitted the jump seats successfully)My understanding is the support infrastructure for the jump seats was removed with the 21 refresh, or before.
Yeah Elon’s kids got too big to use the jump seats, so that explains itMy understanding is the support infrastructure for the jump seats was removed with the 21 refresh, or before.
