2021 Plaid/Refresh Headlight Flickering Problem

Three days ago I noted on my driver side headlight the outer C shape LED strip started to flicker (both in “park” and “on”mode). Flickering was consistent for about 24 hours. Then seemingly fixed itself. I have no firmware update before or during this time.

I am wondering if any Plaid or refresh owner noted flickering headlights? Any previous Tesla owner could perhaps chime in on whether the headlight should be replaced or is it more of a software glitch. I do have PPF on the headlight so I would like to avoid replacement.

Based on the fact that you are grabbing frames from your phone's camera I suspect what you are seeing is a result of the framerate of the recording. Do you see the flicker with your naked eye?

Oh yeah, that's not normal. Make a service appt and post that video.

Did this ever get fixed. They replaced my headlight and I still have this problem.

Dimming of the eyebrows was relatively common for pre Palladium Model S. I had one replaced within warranty and another exhibiting the problem at time of sale ('17 S). I have heard that PPF can retain the heat and cause premature failure. Don't know how true that is. I've had PPF on all my cars. Some for as long as 8 years. Both our current SP and YP have them on the lights. No issues yet. But they are relatively new (January and March of '22).

My 2022 S did that from time to time, on the passenger side. I'm too lazy to get it replace, lol.

Passenger side flickers as well. Bringing it in to service to have it replaced.

I am curious to see how they fix it. I had an appointment to drop of my car, but last minute I decided not to to drop it off because it could take 2-5 days.
