i just saw this... makes me happy they pushed my delivery back a little as if free supercharging wasn’t a nice enough gesture, even if I don’t plan on using it all that often.

Having the same issue as well. I have to really push the doors to make them close. Anyone else have this problem? Also, I hear a good amount of wind noise on the driver’s side door.

Ugh, I actually chose Model 3 over Model Y specifically because I assumed they would have had all these quality control issues worked out by now. I am going to really look hard for this stuff on delivery day. I will not accept if there are door closing issues like this or interior defects like that. I don’t really care if I miss out on end of year perks that much. I want a quality car.

Not sure, but I think I’ve read that others have asked the SA to unlock it first for inspection. But who knows

Been lurking around a bit since I placed my order, but will throw my hat in the ring:

Blue w/white interior and 19 inch wheels ordered on 11/21
Delivered today via contactless delivery to my home. Quality is top notch, no gap or paint issues that I have found yet, and I am pretty picky. Came with the new headlights as well VIN is 877XXX. Am quite happy I hit both the year of free supercharging and 3 months of FSD.

Timeline was:
Text saying car will be built in 1-2 days on Saturday.
VIN number appeared on Sunday as well as a delivery date of 12/29 at 12:01AM.
Text on Monday confirming delivery for 12/29.
Delivered around 2:30PM today (on Tuesday) without any other communication besides the automated texts.

Picked up today in Seattle. Same two gap issues most people have with the front passenger door and the left rear tail light area. Paint was perfect and zero scratches. New Headlights were a plus. Originally ordered a performance (10/20) but gave up without VINs or delivery dates on 12/27 and bought this LR in the same color with FSD and sport wheels. I am totally fine being 1.3 seconds slower and these tires are better for seattle weather.

No problems, it’s raining hard in Seattle tonight but doesn’t appear to leak at all. Sound wise I had it up to 80 on I5 coming home and couldn’t hear a difference in wind noise on either side.

I was wondering if somebody here has sealed the spaces between the roof glass panels, and all along the sides of the glass panels and roof rails. A lot of the wind noise seems to come from there. And the top of the side windows too. And no, there are no leaks, at least for now. Just more wind noise than I expected, but once speeds get around 65 and above. Not too bad, but I'd like to quiet that if possible. I was expecting more road noise, but that is better than expected. Of course once in the awfully rough asphalt, it'll be a lot worse, but we'll see in 2 weeks.

Finally got delivery of the car today. They told me everything was perfect, and not surprisingly, it wasn't. The 'delivery' button wasn't there, and it took almost 2 hours to get it done. Geez. By the way, just finished the latest update (which gets rid of the central 'T' on the screen), and no FSD on my car. When is it supposed to kick in? My app only shows forward and reverse on the 'summon' feature. And car does not have the extra FSD menu. Is it going to be an additional software update? Thx.

Did the sales folks push you to the car, or did you proactively make this choice?

I had the Westlake folks call me saying they have no idea why all their performance orders aren't even getting VINs, but they didn't even try to push me to accept something else... wondering what they told you!

I have the same panel issues as mentioned above and i think most of the cars have same issues one or other side. There are no leaks and sound noise inside the car for the past ten days.

Finally took delivery of my Model 3 Black / Black LR. My original VIN was a 858xxx so I pushed and reached out to many different sales associates on the east coast and found an exact match with a vehicle that was a 872xxx VIN with the new headlights.

It took some leg work on my end and pushing a few different people but eventually it happened. Car was intercepted and re routed to Maryland. I did have some transport issues as they matched the VIN to me but could not find transportation. I dropped by my local service center because my office is across the street looking for an update on when the car would be delivered and to my surprise the car was at the service center! They asked if I could take delivery the same day (yesterday) and I said sure! a few hours later the car was detailed and ready for delivery.

Upon inspection I did not find any issues with panel gaps, I did have the new headlights, the car had 4 miles on it and delivery was very smooth. Actually, about 3 hours before scheduled delivery I changed my financing to put it under my business. Surprisingly enough I was able to get everything done and delivered yesterday.

Kudos to the Tesla team from the SA's, Managers, Logistics, and finance for allowing me to throw a curve ball hours before delivery and still take a smooth delivery same day!

My car arrived!! I decided on a whim to drive by the Cincinnati SC this morning on my way to work hoping I might see a delivery truck on its way in or just to see all the new cars on the lot. Much to my surprise I happened to time my drive by perfectly (pure luck!) and spotted my car sitting outside waiting to be inspected/cleaned up! I got out and verified the VIN and snapped some photos. I didn’t notice and obvious qc issues with the quick inspection I did so I’m really relieved and excited! Can’t wait until my appointment tomorrow!

If you tell them you can take delivery today there is a good chance they will allow you to wait a few hours (if you have time) and take delivery today! Thats exactly what happened with me. They want to get as many out the way as possible! Beautiful car! Keep us posted.
