Nintendo80 said the 2021 Refresh wiring is plug and play for the lights. So, I think you’re off by a year. Yes 2021 and older are all the same and would require the same modifications. Most of us here have the 2021 Refresh version of the car. At least I think…
Whatever dude, I have the wiring diagram. I can tell you for sure pre-face tail light have older harness. Lol plug and play.. don't ask me which wire to tap, when u figure out im right. How you gonna tell me.

Really not sure what your problem is? What do you mean by pre-face? As in pre-facelift/original refresh? Nose Cone Model S? I see the rear facing seats. I don't have one of those. I have a 2021 Refresh that still has a bumper to bumper warranty that I'm not really interested in voiding. But, hats off to you sir for being the first and figuring it out for your type of Model S.

I'm going to take Nintendo80's word that the 2022 Refresh Refresh Taillights have plug and play wiring on the 2021 Refresh. You know, because he bought ALL the parts and attempted it. And as to your last challenge, if I needed to make a modified wiring harness, I could no problem and with no help. I wouldn't even need the schematic, and when I was done it would be Plug and Play without hacking the harness to bits in the process.

Pro tip: 90+% of OEM Automotive wiring harnesses have removable male pins. You likely didn't have to splice, and you wasted a bunch of time.
