2021 Update Body Question

I understand there are several under the hood changes, new steering yoke, new screens, etc. What I am looking for is what changes are there are externally. Are there new fenders? Hood? Doors? -- The kind of stuff that will affect panel gaps. I am thinking about a new Model S, but have zero interest in fighting about these items with a Delivery Person who says 3 mm differences on sides of a hood meet Tesla's specifications.

Good questions.
Electric doors like the X?
Better fixation of the door panels. Had two Tesla S and if you wants pulled the door panels you must replace all snappers and still the panel comes off easy when closing the door to hard.

If that’s an issue with the current (pre-refresh) Model S, as you seem to be suggesting, why do the changes matter? Or did you mean that the gaps were an issue that has since been resolved in the current model?

I am happy with my 2017 Model S as delivered. I am aware the Model Y, despite over a year's experience with the Model 3 suffered serious panel gap problems. While I did not personally witness Delivery people saying this, I read too many stories about Delivery Specialists saying differences of 3 mm from side to side of hoods and doors were considered within specification. Personally I will walk away from a car like that. Rather than walking away, I would prefer to order when there is a reasonable chance of my delivery having reasonable panel gap differences.

Some body changes/fenders maybe as if you look at the width of car:

older manuals say:
77.3" wide excluding mirrors

new refresh manual says:
78.2" wide excluding mirrors

but they both say 86.2" wide including mirrors still.
