This is an odd one. Tesla tells me that 42 PSI is recommended for the Model S refresh. But the in-car Service tab shows 40 PSI recommended. Is this a new change?

Is everyone seeing this change, 2021 and 2022 S?

Hi there,
I own 2020 Model 3 long range in Korea. SW version is 2022.24.8. In the sticker on the door says 42 PSI for all wheel is recommended.
However I see in my Tesla App is different recommendation value as below image.
It's Korean but it says 'Recommended cold tire pressure: front 36PSI, rear 41PSI'
I guess it learns tire pressure and recommendation value varies based on learning.

42 was the previous model S.. 40 is whats on the door tag for the Plaid w 21" 19's run slightly higher so 42 makes sense.. Personally I run 43.5 all around on my 21's and have hit the speed limiter without issue and plenty stability. I did run 36 psi for a while when I first got the car for more comfort, but the car got extremely unstable at 165, the rear end wanted to spin out and the tires were clearly deforming at that speed.. It was very dangerous.. Since that day I never run under 40psi.. 43.5 cold all around is my goto for high speed stability resulting in stiffer sidewalls and no tire deformation at speed from the heavy car load..

Have you changed the tire size in the car from what it was delivered with? (Have you put different wheels on it?)
I just recently replaced the tires last week but same size tire as OEM. No change in wheel size either. I did go into the service menu of the car and changed tires to the all-season tire setting. Maybe that could of had something to do with it?
