tempest front wheels are 1 inch wider
Any photos to share? I'm contemplating purchasing the tempest wheels for my 2016 MS 75D, but your post is the only thing online I can find on someone having success. Everyone else has failed.just test fitted the tempest wheels on the older Model S
10 mm required for front and rear for inner clearance
Thanks for getting back.pre-refreshed model would not work, offset too high
Hi original post,Wondering if the tempest wheels would fit on older model S
Maybe 15mm spacers for front and rears would probably work
Sweet! Photos from as many angles pleaseJust had tempest wheels from 2023 fit onto my 2018 model s. Only way to fit was with half each spacers on each wheel. Wheels stick out of wheel well slightly. Doesn't look too bad. However, the reason for doing this was for better range of the aero wheel. I'm not convinced that's going to be the case, due to a few factors. we'll see.
Where did you get the spacer? I'm trying to find a reliable one from a good vendor to sell the spacer kit.Just had tempest wheels from 2023 fit onto my 2018 model s. The 21 22 23 long range and plaid have wider bodies to accommodate wider wheels. the 19" are 9.5" wide front. 10.5" wide in the back.Slightly related question - I have the 19" tempest wheels on my 2020. 245x45 stock sized tires. And they rub in front, especially against the wheel well liner in front of the tire. I don't understand why stock sized 19" wheel/tire combo would rub.
Anyone else have similar experience?
EDIT: I should have added my car is running Goodyear RS-A2 all seasons. I know different tire brands/models have different profiles even for the same published tire size, so I wonder if that's what is going on in my case. I just bought the car used so previous owner put these tires on.
I can't seem to edit my old post. I have learn a little since March. The 21 22 23 long range and plaid have wider bodies to accommodate wider wheels. the 19" are 9.5" wide front. 10.5" wide in the back.
I met with a 2013 P85 owner that tried to put the 10.5" 19" wheels on the rear of his car and they would rub on the inside of the car/frame when mounted to the car. He said if he used a spacer to move them out then they would rub on the fender lip.

There are 2-3 types of "tempest" wheels. The early one are 19x8.5 35et with 245/45 R19 2020-21 these will fit on any Model s and x. I think these were on a the early "refresh" model S and were a square setup.
The later "tempest" wheels are the staggered setup on the 2021, 2022, 2023 19 x 9.5 et40 and 19 x 10.5 et45. These have 255/45 R19 in the front and 285/40 R19 in the back.
I bought a 19x10.5" (rear) bare rim off of ebay. It can be bolted to the car but rubs on the fender liner and the frame is right behind the liner.
So the answer is no the 19x10.5" rim will not just bolt up with tires.
If you mounted longer studs and used spacers 15mm (minimum) and tires that would be very close to the width of the 10.5" rim.
Then maybe you could make the 10.5" rim fit in the back.
I have not tried the 9.5" rim yet. I've got a 9.5x19 inch rim on the way from ebay. fingers crossed!
I have installed 2023 19" Tempest wheels on my 2015 MS P90DL. I used 10mm spacers on all four corners. They do barely rub on the front plastic wheel well when I turn all the way left or right. I only hear it in the car when I back out of my driveway. I think that when the tires have a few more miles on them, then they will no longer rub. This is what they look like installed.Hoping there’s a way to fit them on my 2014 P85D. Will spacers work?
