I was attempting to transfer my carbon fiber dash on my 2021 Model 3 to my 2023 Model Y and ran into an unexpected issue. They aren't the same.
At some point Tesla altered the way the dash attaches, at several points and they added 2, Torx 20 bolts on each end via a tab.
Take a look.
First pic, left is 2021 and right is 2023. L bracket tab has been added
2nd pic, top is 2021 and bottom is 2023. Layout is slightly altered.
3rd pic is 2021 end cap area, showing no tab for Torx 20 bolts, while 4th pic is 2023
Looks like I will have to buy a new 2023 carbon fiber dash for the Model Y. Sucks, cause I was hoping to just swap over my carbon pieces, since my wife will be driving the 3 and she doesn't care how the car looks. She even prefers the wood trim to carbon fiber.
