21" Turbine Model S wheels on a Model X?

I'm thinking of using an extra set of 21" turbine wheels I have on a model X 90D I just ordered with the stock rims. Will save me $5500, and all I'd need to do is buy 4 tires. I talked with a wheel shop, and they discouraged me from doing it - said the offsets are different, and it could cause damage. But they also want to sell me wheels, so I wanted to see if anyone else here has an opinion/expertise in this area. There are a bunch of threads on 20" v 22" wheels already - and a few mentions of using 21s... but nothing with the kind of depth or certainty I'm hoping to get.

Can't wait to get the car - but really dislike the looks of the 20" stock wheels. Also considering the T Sportline 20" TST wheels, but thinking if my 21" wheels will work, I'd go that route first and see how it goes. Seems like a good compromise if it won't damage the X.

Thoughts?

model S 21 turbin has these specs:
  • Size: 21X8.5"
  • Offset: +40
  • PCD: 5X120
  • Center Bore: 64.1mm
Model X has 20 has:
  • Size: 20X9.0"(front), 20x10.0"(rear)
  • Offset: +35 (front & rear)
  • PCD: 5X120
Model X 22 has
  • Size: 22X9.0"(front), 22x10.0"(rear)
  • Offset: +35 front, +35 rear
  • PCD: 5X120
So Models 21 is not compatible according to SC

Offsets and load ratings aside...

As far as tires go, use Tire Size Comparison since the fronts and rears are different sizes. It looks like the calculator gives these as the closest match, there is no exact match for a X using a 21" tire.

Front:
265/40/21 vs 265/45/20 (+1 rev/mile)
265/40/21 vs 265/35/22 (-1 rev/mile)

Rear:
275/40/21 vs 275/45/20 (+2 rev/mile)
285/40/21 vs 285/35/22 (-3 rev/mile)

I'm not sure how the computer might or might not compensate for the rev differences.
