21" Wheels with OEM tires - New York

Our S85D was a showroom car that came with the original 21" wheels. We do a lot of snow and rough-road driving and prefer 19". We thought we had these swapped for a 19" set last summer, but when the other party showed up, it turned out someone had stolen my jack and tools from my garage! We all got frustrated and I bought a set of 19" wheels from another TMC member. So these are for sale again.

Two of the wheels are *new*. Two of the wheels have been "reconditioned" by Tesla -- one shows some tiny abrasions at the wheel edge, the other shows a single approx. 1cm shiny spot where the wheel shop polished out some curb rash.

The tires are the OEM Conti Sport Contact.

According to Tesla, all 4 tires are new and were used only to drive the car from Tesla in PA to Tesla in NY, approx. 200 miles. Having had a very close look at the tread last time around, I think 2 of the tires are actually the original tires from the car, which would mean they have just under 3,000 miles on them. They must have been very gentle miles, but those two tires have a little more wear than the other two.

$2500 for local pickup in the NYC area. Get them while you can!

Last time I tried, the marketplace (Pango) shipping calculator could not handle the size and weight of the boxes. Also, I am not entirely sure where to get boxes suitable for these wheels (I had some that I got with my 19" wheels, but I fear my cats trashed them). I don't want to ship the wheels unboxed for risk of dings, though I've certainly seen Tire Rack etc. ship mounted tire/wheel combos "bare" with just a UPS tag wrapped around them in the past.

Tell you what -- if you can figure out the shipping details, I might go for it. I see from last time around that the parameters are 4 x 60lb, 28x12 boxes.

Not to hijack your post, but have a tip on shipping wheels and tires. You really don't need boxes per se, just cut a few sheets of cardboard in circles a few inches in diameter bigger than the faces of the wheels. Put some foam between these and the wheel faces and then use heavy duty plastic wrap or these plastic bands to hold it all together, just like the picture below. Best way to do it and don't have to worry about finding complete boxes. The wheels are really the important part that needs to be protected, the tires themselves, not so much. Good luck and hope this helps.
