255/45R20 Tires on the 20" Inductions?

I'm looking to put Michelin CrossClimate tires on the 20" Inductions.

Unfortunately the OEM tire on the 20" is 255/40R20. And there's not a lot of selection at that size. The closest I can get with the CrossClimates is 255/45R20/XL 105W.

How practical is it to run 255/45/R20s?

I've heard you can talk to Tesla and get them to update your tire circumference so that the spedometer is right. Are there any other issues?

I’m considering buying CrossClimate2 on 245/45/20 to replace OE Goodyear’s. Issue is wheel width requirements. Michelin and Tire Rack states that this size is for 7.5-9” rim width. The problem is the induction rim is 9.5” wide. Will this create issues?
You could get the Martian wheels (20" X 8.5", +35 offset) or the same wheels in 19" X 8.5", +35

Tesla Model Y 20

I just put a set of Michelin CrossClimate2 255/45/R20s on my Model Y. So far, I LOVE THEM! The ride is noticeably better. Yes, the speedo is off by a little. I would love to get that recalibrated. Has anyone successfully gotten their speedo recalibrated?

Thanks,
~ Mark

Oh, I looked at the 245/45/R20, as well. they will fit, but the load index rating is insufficient for a Model Y. The 255/45/R20 is safer.

I'm in Denver and have been searching for an A/S replacement for the goodyears that are worn to 5/32 @ 8000 miles. With the global tire shortage I've been in a pickle finding a replacement before we start getting snow/wet roads. Only OEM size option I was finding locally were $500 Michelin snows.

Found a set of the Vredestein Quatrac Pros on tire rack in the 255/45r20 which they're shipping to me. Should have them installed next week.

We use the Y for a ski vehicle so interested to see how these handle i70.

Just ordered the exact same set for winter driving in Metro Detroit, I've driven in and around Denver in the winter, way more scary than around here hopefully they work well for you! Jealous I can't live out there, I really enjoyed Idaho Springs and that pizza made with honey!

Bea Jo’s is a required stop if your visiting CO/Summit County!

Yes- eveveryone I relize snows are better/safer. We get 8 days of bad winter weather in Denver these days and we avoid the traffic/storms on i70.

For those that knows about tires, would 255/50-20 fit? I found a great set of winter tires.
You can enter the tire specs and compare tires here: Tire Size Comparison

The OE tires have a 28 inch outer diameter and the 255/50-20 have a 31 inch outer diameter. The larger diameter may cause the tire to rub inside the wheel well. Also, the speedometer would read about 10% low of the true speed.

The original equipment (OE) Goodyear Eagle F1 tires are size 255/40R-20, extra load (XL) rated with a load index of 101 and speed rating of Y
