Also curious for future reference when I have to replace tires.Would be interested hearing more about everyones experience with 255/45 tires. I just ordered a set off TireRack based of this thread! How are they so far?
im sure the 21's have less sidewall equal diameter40 vs 45 Sidewalls
I plugged in the numbers in the calculator above. You'll notice there is 1" difference in height between a 40 & 45 sidewall. Wondering if you could just tell the vehicle that you have 21" Uberturbine wheels to compensate. Hoping this would make the speedometer more accurate.
That is great news! I ordered the exact tires and size today from TireRack and will have them installed next Thursday. Here’s to less curb rash and softer ride!Got the Quatrac Pros (255/45r20) installed today thru Tire Rack mobile installer. Took a quick drive and immediately noticed the extra sidewall has softened up the ride. Tires were installed at 41 psi.
ABRP has my "speed overreporting factor" at 3.0%. Believe they run a gps vs car data for comparison. So assuming the change in speedometer will be negligible.
How do you mean the ride is better?
And so you have them inflated to the same psi?
I've had them on my car for 900 miles now. I love them! The ride is much softer. My coffee doesn't spill when I go over railroad tracks like it used to every time. The speedo is slightly low. It's about 1 MPH off at 60 MPH on the highway. So, 60 MPH on the speedo is 61 MPH according to the GPS on my phone. I can adjust for that, no big deal.do you mind giving an update on the these tires, I am ordering the same set, but I would like to know if there were ok in the long run. Thanks

There’s no rubbing on any of the wheels with this slightly bigger size, correct? Here you go...

Ahh- assumed you wanted to see if there was any offset. Same diameter so no noticeable change. Had to mess with the side shot to get the tires to show with the lighting.Thanks... what i meant though was full side view shot looks good! thanks!
They shouldn't; the MYP OE (front) size 255/35R-21 have a 28" outer diameter. The MYP OE (rear) size 275/35R-21 have a 28.6" outer diameter. The 255/45R-20 have a 29 inch outer diameter. The OE front and the 255/45R-20 have the same 10" width. The OE rear have a 10.8" width.Does anyone know if the 255/45R20's might rub with a Model Y Performance since the MYP is a little lower than the LR?
