285's or 295's for MYP at front and back/square set up

Fronts are bit more delicate since you don’t want any rubbing when the wheel is turned. I have a friend with a MYP who has 275/35/21 in the front and it rubs when making parking lot maneuvers, nothing major tho.

For my MYP, I will be doing 265/40/21 and 285/40/21. I want a bit more sidewall to fill in the wheel gap, increase comfort and hopefully increase durability against potholes.
I thought i posted earlier in response to this but can't find the post . reposting here.

How did the 265/40/21 and 285/40/21 setup turn out. Any issues in ride quality or rubbing anywhere at turns. I am thinking of doing the same or possibly a square setup for my winters with 265/40/21's on OEM wheels for MYP. Does anyone have any pro's con's ?

Curious if you did get the 265/40/21 and 285/40/21 setup for MYP. How is the ride quality and any rubbing on turns ? I was considering doing the same or potentially even a square setup with 265/40/21 on stock OEM wheels for MYP. Any Pro's or con's from anyone on these setups..

Re: 265/40/21 F and 285/40/21 R
Is that what you went with? Does it work OK?
I know it could pose a problem in some (maybe most) traditional AWD systems to have almost a .75" tire height difference front to rear. I guess it's ok in EV's?

on the stock 21" uberturbine?

I just put on 285/35R20 in a square set up. Wheels are 20x10 with +40 offset. On a stock 2021 Model Y. No rubbing. Hadn't seen anyone confirm it fitting on a stock set up.

here is the clearance with a 285/35/20 on a 10.5x20 wheel. If it helps you.
Thx. So the 295/35/21 should fit just fine on the oem 21 Uber 10.5 rim. Clearance will make it.

Front 275/35/21 will fit as well.

Diff will be .5” between front and rear in total diameter. But stock oem 255/35 and 275/35 is already .5” there anyway so visually won’t make much diff there.

One thing to keep in mind is that tire tread profile. I went with Nokian R3 on the stock Uberturbines at 265/40/21 and 285/40/21 and the fronts barely cleared the upper knuckle - maybe a 1mm before touching. Michelin and Contis fit without issues.

Summer setup at 265/35/22 and 285/35/22 with flush offset and lowered 1.5” - no issues.

Here’s a pic of 265/40/21 Nokians - very tight but no rubbing.

my model y is fully covered with ppf film. They do stick out and I do not have any rock or mud flaps on my car yet. I do not see any damage yet but I only have about 1k miles on the new set up. The wheels were 38 or 35 offset I believe. It has a little poke but I’ve seen worse. Also I was told that I would not need rear camber/caster bars for alignment. Well I can say that I do need them as they cannot align the rear of my car To spec.

What do you mean you can't align the rear to spec? Going with 285's on a 10" wheel, 45 offset, which would stick out substantially less if you did get a 35 or 38 offset + 10.5.

When you say "they can't align to spec", do you mean your tire shop or Tesla?
