2nd drive unit failing at 60k miles

MS60 2013. Surprised that the DU installed at 40k failed at 60k miles. Is this a common failure?

It was a big concern in 2012 when it was only guaranteed for 4 years or 50,000 miles. Tesla acknowledged that and increased it to be comparable with the battery warranty.
