3 month old, side skirt soft plastic peeled away

Hi guys, 3 month old Model 3, very happy and no issues until today.

Just washed it as usual (soft microfibre mitt and hose down) and the wife later found a small strip of soft rubber-like silicon seal in the colour of my car (white on the back) on the drive. I actually threw it away thinking it cant be from the car. However I later inspected in the area it was found (as it was playing on my mind) and sure enough part of the side skirt has peeled away with the paint presumably I had knocked it off with washing. Its about 25mm long and 2-3mm deep. How soft is this plastic to peel away like that and how did it happen? The strip that came away was like a piece of elastic band. Shall I get Tesla to look at it? It’s not noticeable until you get down to the lower level. Very strange thing to happen…

Thanks

John

I'm not clear on what exactly you are talking about. Is it that mark on the paint or the plastic lower trim? Because that mark on the paint looks like it was scratched or gouged. But that area isn't plastic it is metal.

Yes the white indent in the paint. Its definitely plastic or at least the transition between side skirt and black plastic bottom is soft plastic or some sort of painted seal. Shall I report to Tesla? Chances they will fix it?

Thanks

I know for a fact that area is metal and not plastic, as my car was hit and had to be repaired. If that are on yours is plastic then something is fishy, so yes you should report it to Tesla.
