Is 49k for premium specs and 310 miles of range a good deal?

  1. With all those features and range, it's a steal!

  2. A little over-priced for my taste.

Capture1.JPG Finally made my way to the specs page on Tesla's website... I think this is a good deal for us early Res holders.

From the moment they released AP2, I said, "Well, if it's still $5,000 by the time it gets to the 3, I'm not buying it." Guess what? I'm not buying it. And I'm just getting the premium package for the extra USB ports in the back. Crazy? Perhaps, but nobody wants a road trip with a four year old and a dead iPad.

Fed pays for the Premium Pkg, wheels and paint. Colorado pays for the EAP.

Just wish I could get them to write the check up front

Yes, crazy, just buy a $20 USB battery pack, and you've solved that problem.

Or buy like 5 spare iPads. Still cheaper than $5k.

Some of us also get state tax credits, plus utility rebates, plus reduced electric costs at night.

EAP is imho what would make this car fun to drive in crawling city traffic or on the wide open road trips.

Both Autopilot & Autosteer are a joy to behold and gets me the silly Tesla grin every time.

It is also a software upgrade and so prices will likely go down given the ease of incremental revenue & Tesla's precarious financials.

Probably another 10 years later when Level 5 autonomy has been reached and nothing much left to do. But for now, it's a premium to pay for to get AP 2.0 to level 5.

Comparing it to Model S 75D to 100D for ~26 kwh, Model 3 is a better deal for mere 9K range upgrade.

    But then comparing it to 10kwh Model 60D to 75D for $2,000 software unlock, $9,000 can be steep, considering 2,000 x 2 = $4000 to $5000 (for ~20kwh to 25kwh.).
