360 dashcam?

Please excuse the stupid question. With the supposed release of the 360 degree dashcam in a few weeks, (Tesla's 'Sentry Mode' with 360 degree dash cam is coming in 2 to 3 weeks, says Elon Musk), are all current Model 3's with EAP version 2.5? Or does this apply only to the FSD hardware?

and to answer your original question, every 3 ever built has 2.5 right now... (as do all S/X cars built since at least August 2017, possibly at least some in July)

This is great news, but if it won’t stay on when the car is off, it won’t help you see who hits your car when you’re not in it.

Nope, but it does stay on while you're in the car listening to music without the car even being in drive.

My belief is Tesla can set the power management features of the HW2 computer however they want. So I don't think we should be assuming there are limitations on it in terms of when it gets power.

I also don't anticipate that simply recording video will take much power. But, I'm curious to see how they implement it. I'd love to see an implementation that only recorded when it detected movement around the vehicle.

Great idea, and yes...I believe recording video wouldn't be a very power intensive feature at all.

HOWEVER - I do believe that keeping 9 cameras running all of the time would be pretty power intensive.

I would estimate around 15-20watts for all 8 cameras plus AP2 in a low clock mode.

Not sure how helpful they'd be since the cameras don't face down.... that's why they can't do an overhead 360 parking view like some other cars offer.
