NIO is courting Tesla owners with mobile charging stations inside electric vans
That NIO offers a service to charge up their own cars or Tesla from a Van that comes to the car. Nice if expensive service, but the detail I found interesting is the setup which includes two 70 kWh batteries in the van that supply 100 km of range in 15 minutes. If I can use EPA type numbers that works out to a charge rate of about 64 kW.
Is this ability to cross the Tesla boundary a peculiarity of the socket used in China ? I'm presuming that NIO does not use the Tesla socket since the company is purportedly building out its own charging network and the pictured EVSE handle looks the size of CCS
