For the fun of it I dropped into a Tesla store today with my family just to show them what Teslas look like up close, and have a sit in a Model X which I've never done before.
We got chatting to the sales guy and I told him I lined up to reserve a Model 3 nearly 2 years ago. He said a few interesting things, but frankly who knows whether they are true or not:
We got chatting to the sales guy and I told him I lined up to reserve a Model 3 nearly 2 years ago. He said a few interesting things, but frankly who knows whether they are true or not:
- There have been 40,000 Model 3 reservations in Australia (extremely impressive if true, but sounds on the high side)
- There are half a million reservations now in USA (that's a lot higher than any previous report, but not entirely impossible since they now have somewhere near 5000 cars driving around now and word can spread fast)
- Model 3 will arrive in Australia in January 2019 (frankly I doubt even Elon Musk knows when it will happen)
- Australian stores will get LHD Model 3s for store display around Q3 this year (this I can believe)
