Toyota Motorsport sets new electric record with EV P002 on the Nrburgring [w/video]

    After reading this

    Could this be a Tesla-battery-pack?

not a 40kWh Tesla pack. Tesla packs are designed for 4C peak discharge rate (maximum power delivery during acceleration). The Toyota's lap time was 7:22 or 1/8 hour. Ideally the pack is sized to get nearly depleted during the race lap -> average 8C discharge rate, with peaks probably in excess of 20C. LiFePO4 chemistry can deliver this but not Tesla with Panasonic cells.

Uh, no. The stopwatch in the upper left corner is going at normal speed.

    I found it interesting that:
    1. Time started at full speed, not standing start. Is that standard?
    2. There's lots of writing (graffiti?) on the pavement. What's that about?

Yes, that is completely normal. You normally take the best lap time out of a series of laps.
