Only prototypes. Using those cells would require a redesign of the battery packs, and essentially when that happens, all cars will have them.

Test cars. Will not be available in the Model 3 in the foreseeable future. The have the Semi, Cybertruck, Roadster, S, and X that will need those batteries first.

I sincerely doubt any paying customers are out there driving unproven test mules.

That's not to say I wouldn't volunteer though!

Prototype and early production stuff definitely will not be in any production vehicles. If they exist in the wild, they are in test mule cars owned by Tesla.

Which is EXACTLY why they didn't (and wouldn't) do that.

It's in the prototype Plaid vehicles. Likely the Cybertruck too, and maybe even the Semi. That makes sense.

If you look at the slide from the Battery Day - the 4680 batteries are only for certain car types - the Semi and Cybertruck were shown under the 4680 column.

Tesla is having different batteries for different models.
