We have had cars driving with those cells since May,” Musk said OK, any civilians cars have them or just test mules or employee's cars? He said cars so it's not the only the semi. Is he referring to Plaid S that have been seen on the track? Will 4680 be an expensive option like only Plaid while they keep the existing battery production line going for the majority of the cars?

Test cars. Will not be available in the Model 3 in the foreseeable future. The have the Semi, Cybertruck, Roadster, S, and X that will need those batteries first.

I sincerely doubt any paying customers are out there driving unproven test mules.

That's not to say I wouldn't volunteer though!
