6 weeks since MX confirmation - account page still says "scheduled for production in our factory"

Uggghhhh ... This wait is killing me. Originally quoted 6-8 weeks. That ain't gonna happen - I live in Denver and the car hasn't started production yet.

Once scheduled for production, will this page update to show the actual production date(s) ??? I've called my delivery specialist (Doug - below), and the best he can do is say that it should be early September. That's 10 weeks since my order & confirmation date - That sucks. I know the Model 3 folks have it worse, but I was under the impression that the initial 6-8 week estimate is fairly spot-on. Not in my case ...

save the freakout until you actually hit week 6. The car takes less than 24 hours to produce in the factory. So the actual timeframe from entering production to finishing production to delivery to service center happens very quickly.

There is a really helpful graph on the Model S/X Order Tracker spreadsheet here. Click on the tab 'S/X Quarterly Timing'. Basically says very little happens between days 30 and 40 of the quarter, then production starts to ramp up in earnest. Day 40 will be Friday this week. I would expect that you will see the floodgates open next week.

I ordered on 6/23 and just got my delivery date of 8/16 from my Delivery Specialist today, however is still in production. We'll see if it happens. I was one of the lucky few in that day 30-40 trickle of vehicles.

The spreadsheet indicates there is hope, but might be another week until you start seeing folks pop up in production in the spreadsheet. Since there are so many people that ordered around the same timeframe as you in the spreadsheet, seems likely that this quarter will follow same pattern as last and production will really ramp up in another week?

If it makes OP feel any better, I have been waiting since mid-June! I believe @posity ordered after I did and is in production before mine. @posity located in Oregon while I am in CA! My DS has been ok-ish, but my OA is awesome.

I ordered in mid Feb. Delivery in Fremont May 30.

Other people said Tesla builds export cars during early parts of quarters, and domestic cars toward the latter parts of the quarter.

The site was considerably overly optimistic in my case. The SC where I ordered told me 2-3 months or so and they were correct.

Ordered 6/24
VIN 113681 6/30
Currently in production 8/7

New York Delivery estimate was late August / early September. I'm hoping to have it in time for a road trip before Labor Day!

Lucky you! @posity this is more evidence that Tesla is likely prioritizing production based on location even within the US! Ordered mine mid-June, not in production yet!

I wonder if form of payment or trade-in has any effect on priority? My X is corporate purchased, cash, no trade-in so super easy paperwork for Tesla. Would be interesting if the spreadsheet kept track of payment method and trade-in - might help understand their priority selection.

We're scheduled to pick up our X in just over a week. Hooray!

I doubt that had any effect. Financing seems to be completely separate from production. As in they don't talk to each other.

'Corporate purchased' maybe, but financing unlikely. I don't have any trade-in and will be half cash.

Seems to be following the historical trend pretty closely. Hardly anyone (with an X order) started production this week versus last week.

EDIT: Oh and adding this... My status seems to be stuck just like the OP's.

Congrats!

If you haven't already, take a look at this thread Model X Order/Delivery Tracking - Google Sheet and click on the Order Delivery Tracking spreadsheet and enter your info. It asks for info regarding your chosen features and allows you to enter milestone dates which adds to the collected data. We all check it to answer a lot of trend questions. :)

Just placed order tonight. Oh the waiting. So six weeks hua?
