Overseas markets have seen a $USD2000 decrease in the upgrade cost, has it transferred to here?

Yes, come down to $10500 from around $14000.

Hopefully it will continue to drop.

Slightly overpriced relative to USD prices, AUD9,500 would be a fair reflection of the USD pricing with our current exchange rate.

Hopefully every January it will come down. After all, nobody would buy an upgrade of say a 10 year old car at $10500, especially when the upgrade would be getting smaller all the time with overall battery degradation.

True - I mistakenly thought that California sales tax was included on the USD pricing so the AU GST makes up most of that gap if the US pricing is ex-sales tax

Just FYI, there has been no price drop for my 70D to 75 upgrade. Still $4900.
