#65 Opening My Garage Door With Tesla Mobile App

SUPER COOL!

My only problem is it opens my driveway gate. I wonder if it activates the first in the list of homeland devices?
can you explain how you linked the car/app to your specific garage door? seems easy enough to summon the car or hit the garage door button on the app, but there isn't a how-to for syncing the car/app to the door itself.

thanks

I had the problem where it opened garage 1 but I needed it to open garage 3. It's not the easiest setting to find.

To get it to open the correct Homelink device:
  • Go to Settings
  • Driver Assistance
  • Under Autopark, choose Customize
  • Temporarily enable Use Auto Homelink (might already be enabled)
  • Choose the Homelink device you want to use via the app
  • Disable Use Auto Homelink (or leave it enabled if you like)

I think they might have moved this setting, I couldn't find Driver Assistance in the latest software version, here is how I was able to configure which garage door I wanted to use with Summon:
  • Settings -> Autopilot
  • Tap "Customize Summon" button
  • Use Auto Homelink -> ON
  • Choose homelink device from list

Yes, my original post was from 2017. When they released v9 at the end of 2018, they moved lots of things around. Thanks for posting updated instructions.
