Good interview - but I wonder how long it will be before you can summon your car on private property - and order it to go to bed while it gets plugged by the auto snake. I mean come on, that would be so cool - a real game changer!

I wouldn't count on getting 7.0 by October 23rd, it sounded like a Tesla month to me. ;-)
I think they will release 7.0 on September 29 with the Launch of the Model X to maximise the media hype, then roll 7.0 out progressively to existing Model S.

They are actually not white - that's the protective stuff.
Maybe they should go a little faster. I remember my frustration while waiting for mine. Was there yesterday with at least 12 cars parked down there. Was told they are renting storage space near by and the total number of cars awaiting delivery in Sydney is a lot more than what you see in the back lot.
Seems like 7.0 will come next week for us:
"Owners would get the system through a software update starting on Wednesday evening in North America. Owners in Europe and Asia would get the software update in about a week. People with Model S sedans that were made earlier do not have the required sensors and would not be able to add them retroactively."

Yep rollout is for north america only. Hopefully this isn't like homelink and internet browser.

I hope we don't end up in a position where we can't have what we have been convinced to purchase.Elon's more recent tweets (in response to a query from the UK) indicated that roll out to markets outside the US is "subject to regulatory approval".
Well that's Australia stuffed then....
