Compass is shown in the center screen nav display.

Only when you don't select North to be up, which is what I prefer. Then you have to figure out the orientation yourself

True. I never have my center screen nav map showing north up, I prefer the map to be oriented the same way the car is pointed.

Heretic! No one actually sets their map display this way intentionally, surely.

Apparently @Max does, which is fine. Personal preference. (@LetsGoFast, I know you were just kidding him :)
I rarely look at the compass, I just wanted @JenniferQ to know that it was available in case she was not aware.
People's brains are literally wired differently: some people have a better innate sense of direction than others. I rarely have a problem determine direction. In contrast, my wonderful spouse usually has no idea which way north is, for example.

Yes, but I'd love it to be there even if i don't have Nav up. Many others do.

And for that matter, the date is there if you keep your calendar up.

The date is there when if you don't keep your calendar up. The date is ON the calendar icon.

Now if you mean the DAY of the week, that's different, then you're correct.

I'd love to see the compass readout somewhere else, perhaps at the bottom of the IC or on the top of the main display, either spot is "fine" just put it somewhere... I too like the map to always orientate north and while I can quickly discern my heading by looking at the arrow, I'm lazy... Not to mention this is the first car I've had in a long time that didn't have a compass readout somewhere... :)

A cleaner time\date would be nice as well but I can usually glance at the calendar icon for the date and the time is easy to see, having them together would be "nice" as well but at least the information is there, albeit separated...

Yes, I stand corrected. However, I don't care about a day or a date. I just want a compass all the time.

Look at the calendar icon - it shows the current date.

I liked the old 6.x method of showing the complete date with day of the week. Not sure why they took that away.
