72 amp charger for older P100's?

We picked up our S 100D last month, and I'm wondering if we should get the high amp charger upgrade now - since all of the newer 100Ds will have it standard...

Except for very early X's, the 48A and 72A chargers have different hardware. Upgrading requires a trip to a service center, so an automatic upgrade can't happen:

Did anyone upgrade from 48 to 72 Amps?

If you didn't think it was worth it when you ordered the car, why would you think it's worth it to pay to upgrade it now just because other cars will have it? Have you found that you need faster charging at places you stay overnight that have HPWCs on 90A or 100A circuits?
