I'd be upset if I had bought a 75 or the upgrade. New price is $2000 for the upgrade and a new 75 is only $1500 more than the old 60. Tesla just got my $2000 plus tax and I assume almost everyone with a 60 will follow suit.

Also no more solid roof option.
And no more coils suspension option (or maybe air suspension, they don't let you pick anymore).
And Model X has these new fancy 20" wheels that actually look good (except that Model X still looks like a toad!)

Bummer for you. As battery prices drop and capacities rise, these kinds of surprises will continue.

Hmmmm.... I had always said there was no reason I'd ever upgrade my 60D to a 75D, but for $2k it's actually sort of tempting. Weird that they got rid of the air suspension on the 75 now though. Glad I ordered my 60D with it. :p

EDIT: Ordered the damn upgrade while I'm laying here in bed. Heard my wall connector in the garage click on, and checked my app... Car is already upgraded and charging to its new 90%. So awesome!

also powered lift gate standard now. Smart move on Tesla to make users happy as pretty sure people didn't like paying for the premium upgrades just for the lift gate. Maybe not the best business decision but that's why we pray to the church of Elon

I jumped on this $2K deal as soon as I saw this thread! Didn't want to regret walking up tomorrow and the deal was gone.

I'm on the fence about it. I really don't NEED the upgrade, but I'm worried about missing out on it in the morning if the price changes.

Do I understand it right that they have lower the price of Model S 75 or is it just for upgrading from 60?

I was just like you. I don't need it for majority of my driving, too.
I highly doubt they will take it away and then tells us that it was mistake price.

But then, with Tesla, nothing is predictable. ;)

Besides 75 badge seems somehow cooler than 60, imo.

I get how you feel. I don't really need the upgrade either but there were a couple times where I had <40 miles and had a bit of range anxiety. I think 2k is well worth the peace of mind but at the same time I doubt Tesla will back it out as batteries will only get cheaper from here on out.

You two are terrible influences! I guess I'll need to swing by the service center on my way to work tomorrow to pick up my new badge :D

No more option for air suspension or 72 Amp charging.

I could find nothing on the standard equipment list or specifications about either the suspension or charger. I sure hope they made springs and 72 amp charger the only configuration, but it is hard to imagine Tesla eliminating the air suspension.

It's on the higher end models. Air is an option and 72 amp is included.

This is a good time to acknowledge how far we've come. You can now get a 75 for the same price as a 60 was 2-3 years ago, where you had to buy the $4,000 tech package and $2,000 supercharging just to get close to the standard features of todays 75.

So you basically get almost 40 more miles of range, for $6,000 less and a free glass roof.

Does anyone believe this price will go back up?

You can't get air suspension on the smaller battery now? That sucks.
