So now you have three choices in the rear:

    - 2" towing package hitch
    - 1.25" accessory hitch
    - diffuser plate (streamlines the rear "bumber")

I thought it was always going to be optional (it is in nearly all makes/models) but included in the Signature series?

Originally if you didn't get the tow package you got the accessory hitch. Now you can remove even the accessory hitch.

Thanks! Hum... there is a new sensor / camera on the top. And the original rear-view camera is still above the license plate (seen a beta with it mounted in the Tesla logo at the CES). But what is that top mounted camera / sensor ? Auto-pilot rear view perhaps ?

That is most probably the camera that will be used to monitor trailer sway?

What happened to the rear spoiler in that picture? There isn't one?

The thing on the roof could be an antenna (or a combo of antenna, camera, etc)

I'm thinking the topside camera is the rear view mirror camera! This is at least very strong circumstantial evidence.

I was thinking tha ttoo. Like the sharkfin satellite radio antennas you sometimes see. The Model S doesn't have it though.

It's active/dynamic so it may only popup at speed or may be more useful when towing.

This is the first time I've seen model specific badging in any of these pictures. Interesting that it says "P90D," since I think all MXs are going to be AWD.

Yeah, but probably just want to make sure any model that is AWD has the D

Also leaves the option open to offer the Model X as RWD in the future. (Just like they did with 70D then 70 on the Model S.)

It says "optional" with No Price. It seems one can have it installed at no charge, or have the hitch installed at $750.

We might need some clarification, under the accessory hitch option it mentions the diffuser plate to cover when not installed. Does the same plate come with the towing package and if neither are installed will there be even a need for it (i.e. its just a solid piece, not just a "dummy" cover).

I think because signature reservations have this included. I'd imagine a price will be there for production editions.

I read that differently. I thought the wording meant that the 1.25" hitch mount was a no-cost option, but you can opt to replace that with the diffuser plate if you want a sleeker look and don't have any interest in towing or using hitch-mounted storage accessories. I think including the 1.25" hitch mount is important to address the issue of no roof-mount storage options on the X.
