This car is now in my garage, in Norway!! But it's not running...the shipping company didn't take out the main switch power. So the battery is dead...!!=( I thought i had a good insurance, but they declined the first request........

A $40,000 shipping error. If they did know the importance of that they really screwed up.

What was the state of the battery before it left the auction? I would have hoped someone there as well would have kept an eye on that battery while it was sitting un-attended.

Tesla Norway has helped me a lot...!! They gave me documentation of the battery. It was delivered to the shipping company (Schumacher Logistic) witch 15 % capacity, and about 15 days later the battery was dead. I received the tesla 30. august, and it was no hope for the battery.

I've sent a new request today, but have no faith.

Good advice will be received with thanks...=)

Not much solace, but I have heard that there were other Roadsters bought from USA, shipped by boat to Europe that ended up with dead battery on arrival.

It looks like I've have to fix it by myself...the insurance-company is refusing everything!!! And a lawyer is to expensive...=(

Tesla Norway can change the batttery, but I need a used one. I have found several wrecked Tesla, but this time I need to be 100 % sure that the battery works.

Wow... the seller really should have kept the battery up, assuming the car was in good enough shape to charge.

Does anybody know how long these things can sit for before the battery dies? Is there a quick way to see a state of charge indicator on the drivers display in the 2008 model?

The VDS shows the range on the battery but you need the key or have it plugged in to see it.

I notice this never sold http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...1&ih=020&category=171573&ssPageName=WDVW&rd=1 Alex says the ESS shows zero range & won't take a charge. Apparently it got rear ended although the damage does not look bad enough to me to have damaged the ESS or motor. Shame really to see a nice machine in such a state.

Finally some good News!!!!! I have a good friend who Owes a Roadster. Last time Elon ( yepp, HIM) was visiting Norway, my friend got a personal mail from Musk. We took a long shot, and sent him a mail about my situation With my Roadster. He answered right away, and then I spoke to the sales manager in Europe. They offered me battery + job for 25 000 dollars. I accepted it right away. Fantastic!!!!!! So hopefully my roadster will be fixed during the summer!!!!!=D
