Hmm - the pano roof on my 2013 MS 85 just broke as well.
We don't drive it hard or anything, but we do drive it daily and use the pano roof a lot. The car has about 42,000 miles on it. The pano roof suddenly stopped opening and closing 2 weeks ago. I went to the SC and they got it closed with some manual force. The tech said they'd just order in the 2.0 pano roof parts. I haven't hear anything since.
My original warranty expired in 5/2017 but I do have the ESA so I was just expecting to pay the deductible on this one. Will keep you posted.
I hope yours doesn't cost $9K to repair. That's ridiculous.
