A CD player that works via USB - finally!!!

Is there no portable CD player that can connect to my Tesla via Bluetooth?

Hey, I tried the AIE CD Player mentioned in message #1 but my 2015 Model S wouldn't give me an icon. I was using a store bought CD. Do they not play on this player in the Tesla?

I don't think any CD player connect with bluetooth to the newer vehicles, but I haven't tried any. Did you click on the bluetooth icon?

You can purchase an audio to bluetooth adapter. Turn the adapter on, plug it in to the audio port on your CD player, hit play on the CD player, connect to the bluetooth device on your Tesla, and the music should stream flawlessly.

But the audio to bluetooth adapters I see on amazon plug into an AUX port on the vehicle, which the newer cars don't have. There is a USB in the glovebox but I use that for sentry mode. Am I missing something?

You are missing something:

CD Player Audio output Jack -> Audio Input to Bluetooth Transmitter -> Bluetooth Transmitter signal transmitted over air -> Bluetooth signal received on your Tesla and played over your Tesla speakers.

You need to pair the Bluetooth Transmitter with your Tesla.

I am amazed at the length the people will take to stay in the 1990's.

Personally, I like this idea, because copying tunes from CD to USB is just another PIA thing I'd rather avoid. Plug & play is the way for me.

But as someone pointed out somewhere in this thread, with the music services I subscribe to this might not be neceassary, although I do have a set of CDs which is kind of a history of the blues. That alone might justify getting this.

Does the MCU need to be upgraded to read WAV files? I have MCU1 and the player I got is not being read by the car.

Anybody have success on MCU1? I picked up the CD player, but my MCU1 shows the USB FAT32 partition as corrupted. Laptop sees the CD player with no issues as a FAT32 drive.

All model Y's have the MCU2.

We used to have an Eight Track Museum in Dallas, but apparently it closed sometime around 2015
