I just saw the Easter egg on a Model X where the lights, speakers and doors did a wonderful Christmas dance. My Model S doors don't flap, but I'd love to have a similar Easter egg to wow the crowd. Is there any similar in the wild?
Yeah - what he said.
Is a light show something that a competent fan boy could write and be loaded as an Easter egg? Does not HAVE to be holiday, but just a show-off thing.

It would be very easy to write. But I don't see how anybody outside of Tesla could do it. There's no API that gives access to low level controls for the lighting.

hmm - if a company is too busy, but only they have access - it suggests that a well written outsider could give it to Tesla and - with minimal effort but access - here we go!!

I don't see it happening. It would be a trivial effort for somebody on the inside to do. The process and procedure for allowing somebody on the outside to modify their software likely exceeds (by far) what would be involved in them doing it themselves.
I also wonder if the wiring on the S might be a bit different. The X can control each of the lights independently. That might not be true for the S.
