A family of Florida Sandhill Cranes checking out the Tesla Coil parked in front of the Tampa Service Center last Thursday. Quite a sight!

Has anyone given them names? If not, maybe the FL club should name them! How about Nikola, Elon, & (need a female name)?

How about Leilani as in Leilani Munter, the NASCAR race driver whose also a big Tesla fan and a TMC regular?

Sandhills Cranes mate for life but they don't 'flock' so you normally only see them in pairs. They raise their young till it's almost fully grown so it looks like there's three adults together. The male is slightly larger than the female but otherwise it's almost impossible to tell gender from appearance only.

That's a roundabout way to point out that the family of three birds is a mom, dad and chick; it could be two males and a female or two females and one male. Choose names carefully...... ;-)
